Vestibule of the Vile

Before you stands a huge circular staircase comprised of old marble that looks as though it hasn't seen a dust rag in centuries. Lining the sides of the staircase, a number of rooms with close metal gates can be seen. There are ten rooms. At the bottom of the staircase, a rather large steel grate (with enough bars to walk across with no chance of falling) can be seen with some sort of construct in the center that extends upwards through the center of the staircase. There is also a closed gate that looks as though it leads into another area off to the side at the bottom of the staircase, as well as a lever on the wall...
